The Key Chemicals to Increase Efficiency in the Metal Plating Process
The Electric Vehicle Industry and other industries related to digital systems like Smart Devices are continuously expanding at present. Applying new technology to the vehicles improves development of electronic devices for supporting demands of users in the future.
Therefore, the Metal Plating Industry is becoming more and more demanded in the market because it is one of process to creates various parts for Electric Vehicles (EV) and Digital products. In order to operate effectively, it depends on appropriate chemicals selection for workpiece’s type, required condition, and plating process. There are many types of plating process such as:
1. Electroplating
2. Electroless plating
3. Other surface finishing technologies
The plating process is definitely important but there is another process that is also important in this industry. It is machines cleaning process and foam removing process that often occurs in machines operation. To make more efficient operation and extend the machine's life, PATA Chemical intends to research and develop chemicals used for cleaning machines and removing foam specifically for the plating process of Printed Circuit Boards.
In the plating process, after workpieces went through the plating steps and the dry film cleaning steps, there are some dry film stains and residues adhered to the machines. It cannot generally clean and remove by water and it may cause problems to the machine’s operation.
• Machines cleaning agent (GT-01)
This chemical is exceptionally effective on dry film resists, residues of anti-foam agents, and residues that difficult to remove inside nozzles and pipes. It doesn’t require high temperatures to operate in order to help energy saving. Moreover, this is unlikely conventional chambers cleaning agent because it is water-soluble cleaner and develops for using on photoresist developers and strippers.
The dry film process is to remove the unexposed dry film by developers. Dry film is a light-sensitive insulating resin while the developer is a sodium carbonate solvent. As the dry film continually dissolves, the developer will be foaming in the circulating spray system. The foam will affect the quality of the developer to some extent causing the production process to be stuck and impact on the production schedule. Therefore, industrial production, should add the cylinder cleaning process and use defoamer agents to prevent foaming in the production.
• Anti-foam agent (Defoamer 70C)
Defoamer 70C is a modified free-silicon product, non-solvent-based aqueous antifoam for developers, strippers, and solder masks. Defoamer 70C is able to reduce foaming quickly and prevent foaming over a long period even using very low consumption. Besides, it’s complete foam removal in rinse chambers without leaving residue on the equipment.
Features of Defoamer 70C
⁃ Excellent working in foam removing and foam inhibiting.
⁃ Effective operation in low concentrations and temperatures.
⁃ Complete removal in rinse chambers.
⁃ Reduces operating costs and consumption.
